The Macrosystems Biology and NEON-Enabled Science (MSB-NES) Program of the National Science Foundation will host a Webinar on Feb 6 at 2pm EST to explain the new MSB-NES solicitation (NSF 19-538) and the Dear Colleague Letter (NSF 19-031) encouraging proposals for Research Coordination Networks.
THE ASPRS 2019 Annual Conference and International Lidar Mapping Forum will again take place with the ASPRS Annual Conference, providing a space to access strategic contacts, cutting-edge hardware and software, and expert education in the geospatial technology market.
Learn to work with repeat-photography images to study landscape changes. This workshop is a joint effort between the PhenoCam network and the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) to share recently developed tools facilitating access to, and analysis of, camera imagery and higher-order data products available through PhenoCam.
We will explore these NEON Surface Atmosphere Exchange resources and solicit input to guide development of NEON SAE community resources for 2019. Additionally, the workshop offers hands-on tutorials utilizing eddy4R vignettes in a cloud-computing environment.
The AGU 2018 Fall Meeting will be hosted in Washington D.C. from December 10th through 14th. Over 50 NEON-related events will be happening at the meeting.
The goal of the workshop is to synthesize a set of goals and objectives for the next phase of the national effort to deploy the data held in our natural history collections for research and education, and to suggest strategies for meeting these goals and achieving these objectives including technological advances, new community standards and potential partnerships.
NEON will share and discuss recent activities and findings from research and outreach efforts, and strategically plan future projects and partnerships at the Southern Sierra Critical Zone Observatory 2018 Annual Meeting.
This conference will facilitate development of the Environmental Data Science Inclusion Network (EDSIN). The application deadline to attend October 1, 2018.
The National Science Foundation's (NSF) Directorate for Biological Sciences invites media and members of the public to a distinguished lecture series with Michael Dietze of Boston University. He will present a framework to understand the predictability of ecological processes and highlight ongoing efforts to build an ecological forecasting community of practice.

The Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC) and Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG) will hod a joint conference from 25 August to 1 September in Dunedin, New Zealand.
This workshop will focus on decadal synthesis, combined with the integration of flux measurements with other data sources (remote sensing, inventories, tree rings, phenology, etc.). We will also explore priorities for future eddy-covariance research, and outline a general synthesis of advances over the past decade.
Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry
The Goldschmidt Conferences™ were started in 1988 by the international Geochemical Society (GS) to provide a forum for its members to discuss their latest research. NEON scientist,Samantha Weintraub will be presenting at the conference.
As NEON enters full operations, we are excited to see that the observatory will be featured in over two dozen sessions at this year's ESA annual meeting. We are also providing a number of opportunities for attendees to get to know more about this ambitious and first-of-its-kind ecological observatory.
The Sixth Interagency Conference on Research in the Watersheds (ICRW) will explore research and adaptive management that aims to highlight the challenges of sustaining working watersheds and their components that are involved in economic production such as agriculture, urban development, forestry, mining/energy extraction, and outdoor recreational activities, while balancing issues that arise from these complex ecosystems and landscapes.
This course will focus on how to efficiently utilize NEON AOP data for scientific applications and how common remote sensing processing methods will impact data quality. Applications for the 2018 Remote Sensing with Reproducible Workflows Data Institute are due 20 March 2017.
In this workshop session, we will explore open educational resources that use NEON data, as well as use the NEON data portal to directly access NEON data of interest with a discussion of considerations for using the NEON portal and data with students.
The POLAR2018 Open Science Conference is part of POLAR2018, a joint event from the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research SCAR and the International Arctic Science Committee IASC.
Wicked Problems: Investigating real world problems in the biology classroom (SW 2018) is an opportunity to meet like-minded faculty, share ideas and resources, learn about effective pedagogical approaches, and catch up some cutting edge science. Participants will include Megan A. Jones, a Battelle Researcher and Science Educator for the NEON project.
The Environmental Data Initiative is celebrating the opening of the Information Management Code Registry with a hackathon at UNM in Albuquerque, NM on June 12 – June 14, 2018.
Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography
NEON project scientist, Caren Scott will be presenting at ASLO 2018 and talking with attending scientists about how NEON can be used for lake studies and aquatic ecosystem research.
